Honeycrisp Apple with Gustola Granola

My 4 Favorite Fit, Made in Minnesota Snacks

Maybe it’s because I was a kid in the ’80s, but I don’t remember healthy snacks being a thing when I was growing up. I brought Snickers for birthday treats almost every year. No one fretted. The one kid allergic to peanuts in the school wasn’t in my class. I remember one neighbor girl having lactose issues. That’s it.

Now, snacks claiming to be healthy abound. Many of those so-called healthy snacks are high in sugar content and full of processed whatchamacallit-thingamajig ingredients. My four favorite Minnesota made snacks have short ingredient lists. Their makers are mindful of food allergies and inflammation issues. And each one has a delish-yum factor going for it.

Melissa’s Favorite Fit, From Minnesota Snacks

    1. Honeycrisp Apples are my all-time favorite, created in Minnesota snack. Last week my friend, The Mysterious V and I went to lunch post weRow class. Somehow it came up that if I had millions in the bank, I would keep an entire refrigerator filled with Organic Honeycrisp Apples. Honeycrisps were first developed at the University of Minnesota.
The apples pictured above have Justin’s Maple Almond Butter (not Minnesotan) and Cashew Pecan & Almond Gustola Granola (made in Minnesota).
    2. Pure Purpose Energy Bites are the perfect pre-workout snack for preventing poor post-workout food choices. I feel fueled from one serving (two bites) without feeling weighed down. Pure Purpose Energy Bites keep the bagels away.
Pure Purpose Key Lime and Cinnamon Raisin Bites
    3. Voila Fiber Rich Frozen Yogurt is filled with probiotic and fiber goodness without tasting like it. Everyone in our house loves the Caramel Frappe and Vanilla Cupcake flavors. On a visit to where the frozen yogurt is made, I tried Peppermint Voila Fiber Rich Frozen Yogurt. Yum and then some!
    4. Kakookies are soft and delicious. They’re made with wholesome ingredients. We enjoy every flavor (Almond Cranberry, Cashew Blondie, Dark Chocolate Cranberry, Boundary Waters Blueberry). If I had to pick a favorite, it’d be the Cashew Blondie. Sometimes, I grab one as a post-grocery store snack. I can put in a lot of steps at our local Hy-Vee.
